Knowing where steel comes from, how it was made and how it moves through the supply chain is becoming increasingly important.

At InfraBuild, we're continuing to invest in technology and data capability that improves steel product traceability across our manufacturing and supply operations.

From identifying steel during production to improving product verification and dispatch accuracy, better traceability can provide greater confidence in product compliance, order accuracy and sustainability credentials.

01 / IDENTIFY

Steel billet marking and identification.

Billet marking is an essential link in the quality chain, providing traceability of steel heat numbers and helping ensure the right steel grade is used for the right end product.

At our Sydney Melt Shop, automated laser marking uniquely identifies billets with the heat number, strand number and billet number in both human-readable text and a 2-D data matrix.

02 / TRACK

RFID technology for steel traceability.

RFID technology helps improve the accuracy and visibility of steel products as they move through our operations.

Verify

Product tags can be read and verified as steel leaves the facility.

Track

Better data supports stock accuracy, dispatch information and supply chain visibility.

03 / VERIFY

Improving product accuracy through automation.

Robotic tagging helps improve the accuracy and consistency of steel product identification while reducing manual interaction in operational areas.

Supporting more transparent steel sustainability data.

As expectations around embodied carbon and product transparency grow, reliable data is increasingly important.

Our investment in product traceability helps strengthen the connection between the steel we manufacture and the information customers need to understand the products they are using.
